Spy x Family Code: White Recap: The Movie, Scene by Scene
Have you seen it?
Most people who start a movie finish it. Say yes and every scene opens. Not yet? You get the setup and nothing past it.
Code: White hit Japanese theaters in December 2023 and North American ones in April 2024, through Crunchyroll. The story and the villains were made for the movie, so don’t go looking for this in the manga.
The setup
A dessert for the principal
WISE might give Operation Strix to someone else. Anya's class is having a cooking contest, so the family heads north to Frigis to learn the principal's favorite dessert.
Sylvia, Loid’s handler at WISE, tells him after a job that Operation Strix will be handed to someone else unless it starts moving. Yor happens to see him with Fiona as he’s leaving and thinks the two of them kissed.
The opening Loid needs is a cooking contest at Eden Academy. Win it and Anya might get a Stella star. The principal is the judge, his favorite dessert is meremere, and meremere comes from Frigis, a city up north, so Loid books the family a trip.
Frigis
The chocolate
A chocolate Anya eats on the train has a microfilm hidden in it. Once they're in Frigis, Colonel Snidel takes the last meremere, and Loid and Yor make up on a ferris wheel.
On the train, Anya finds a key, and Bond’s visions convince her there’s treasure on board. She opens a suitcase, finds a chocolate and eats it. She has no idea a microfilm was hidden inside it. The suitcase’s owners come after her, and Yor knocks them out.
There’s one meremere left in all of Frigis. Colonel Snidel, an Ostanian officer, takes it, and he humiliates Loid while he’s at it. With nothing left to buy, the Forgers decide to collect the ingredients on their own.
Meanwhile Yor can’t let the Fiona thing go and drinks too much. Anya steers her and Loid onto the ferris wheel, and by the time they’re back down the misunderstanding is cleared up.
The airship
Anya goes missing
Snidel wants the microfilm so he can start a war with Westalis. His soldiers grab Anya, and Loid steals a plane to go after her. Yor follows.
Snidel plans to use the microfilm to start a war with Westalis, and his soldiers start hunting for it. Meanwhile Loid can’t find cherry liquor, the last ingredient. Anya uses her mind reading and Bond’s visions to track some down and sneaks out with Bond. She gets the bottle, but Snidel’s men take her and leave Bond.
From Bond’s clues, Loid works out that soldiers took her. Fiona turns up with what she’s dug up on the microfilm and Snidel’s airship, and once Loid puts together that Anya swallowed the microfilm and is on that airship, he steals a fighter plane and goes after her. Yor quietly follows.
The ending
Back to the contest
Loid takes down Snidel, Yor beats a cyborg soldier, and the family crashes the airship into a river. Loid keeps Operation Strix.
Loid crash-lands on the airship and sneaks around in disguise. Yor sets part of it on fire by accident. Anya, locked up, does everything she can to keep the microfilm from Snidel.
Snidel recognizes Loid by his smell and lets out an experimental gas. Anya opens a window and it clears. Loid knocks Snidel out, gets everyone off the ship and puts on the colonel’s face to keep the crew in line, while Yor fights a cyborg soldier called Type F and sets it on fire with the lipstick Loid gave her. They steer the airship into a river. The microfilm, it turns out, is stuck in Anya’s teeth.
Back home Loid gives the microfilm to Sylvia, who lets him keep Operation Strix. An accident pushes the cooking contest back, and Loid suggests another trip, somewhere warmer this time. After the credits there’s one last scene: Franky turning up in Frigis with the cherry liquor, after the Forgers have already gone.
