About Crumbyfox
I've always wanted to tell stories. Crumbyfox is where I'm starting.
Right now I make videos about characters, story details and the ideas behind them. The website is where the recaps live. You choose where you stopped, and it doesn't spoil anything past that.
So far it's mostly been anime, animated films and games. Over time I want to branch out into more kinds of film, and point people toward work they'd never have come across on their own.
What I want to build
Eventually I want Crumbyfox to be a place where filmmakers and animators can reach an audience on terms that are fair and easy to understand.
Creators should keep real control over their work. People should be paid fairly, with production schedules that leave enough time to do the work well. Watching a film should be simple and enjoyable, too, without treating the audience as something to squeeze.
Further down the road, Crumbyfox could make original films and animation of its own. I also have an idea for theaters: modern, well-kept spaces where you book a screening and pick a film from a licensed catalog, instead of only choosing from whatever's scheduled that week.
Along the way
I don't want "creator-friendly" to be something I write on a page and forget. As Crumbyfox grows, I want it to turn into clear agreements, working practices and standards people can judge for themselves.
For now that means making things people find useful, and listening to the people who use them.
